A pair of conjoined twins have been successfully separated - at just two weeks old.
Brothers Kunal and Kartik, who were joined at the chest and shared a diaphragm and liver, are the youngest in the world to be parted.
Staff at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi discovered the defect in a scan. Last night one of the team who carried out the operation, Dr A K Gupta, said: "Both are thriving and can lead a normal life."
