10 Ways to Identify Fake Facebook Profiles?

With the recent rise of social media, we have seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. Social Media is a great tool for people to communicate, and it has revolutionized the way we market our dental practices. Some see this opportunity to promote their skills, while others try to make a quick buck the easy way by cheating. It is a lot harder to develop a quality product than it is to see someone with a quality product and copy their ideas. One of the sneakiest tactics of social media lately is the use of FAKE PROFILES.

Males are the most possible targets who intends to have some online networks through facebook and making cool friends. Do you get a friend request with an attractive display picture having 100s of friends already connected in its friend-list? Now most people, believe that the people we connect with on Facebook are real people. Many of us have "Friends" that we have never met before. We assume that they are real like us, but more and more they are not. But don't worry, there are ways to identify whether a profile is fake or note. Here are they:

  1. Profile Picture: If you're a guy, you'll get a request from an attractive looking profile picture.
  2. Too many Male friends: You can notice that most of their friend would be males with an average quantity of 1000s or some time even more. Well it's not their fault but it's natural. Gender phenomenon, you know! ;-)
  3. Joining Date: Check the date of their joining in facebook. Probably they would have joined recently only and comparatively they'll be having more friends in the short span of time they have been here.
  4. Tags: They would be tagged in hundreds of images belonging to them or to their friends.
  5. App Requests: You would get a hundreds of app & game requests such as "Send me a chicken", "Send me a pig" LOL!
  6. Short Profile details: Fake people don't have time to fill out all the details of their profile.
  7. For Boys: Girls don’t send friend requests to strangers, I mean good girls! :-D So if, by chance, you get a friend request from girls, don’t confirm it without verifying the details. If you are not a handsome looking guy and you got a friend request from a hot babe. Then you really need to triple check! ;-)
  8. For Girls: Who said? I support boys too! But some boys usually send friend requests to girls. So it is better to confirm with others and verify. If you are not a hot babe and you got a friend request from a handsome looking guy. Then you should also really need to triple check! :-D
  9. Celeb Requests: If you are added by a celebrity! :-P Unless you are a celebrity please don’t add!  If they are claiming to be a model or actress or anything like that, then they will surely have professional pictures on their album.
  10. Confirm through Profile Pictures: If the profile is enough attractive to mesmerize you, download the picture. Now open the Google Images and click the camera icon there situated in the extreme right of the input field. Now upload that picture and check whether the image is available on net in some other site or not. Mostly fake profiles' fake pictures have their existence in the GOOGLE since hackers' primary source of getting the image is there only. The moment you get the image in some other site, you can be sure to Unfriend your beautiful friend.
Mentioning one of a recent friend request I got. After a little scrutiny I got the original profiles along with some other fake profiles. Have a look:
