How to learn Guitar without any Tutor training

When you're deciding to learn by your own, this doesn't imply that you have to be carefree. Rather you yourself have to be your Tutor by involving into the Guitar training dedicatedly. Until & unless you're not giving your maximum efforts to the practice please don't expect any useful result at the end. Following are the things to consider before starting a self-training.
  1. Specialization- Strumming or Leading?: Basically there're two main categories of guitarring. So you've to decide which one you prefer to play or in which are you comfortable.
    Strumming
The term arises from an action commonly used to play string instruments, which may be "struck"/"stroked", ie, plucked or strummed, by brushing one's fingers over, or strumming, the strings. In this, either all or four of the strings are used. A strumming pattern or strum is a preset pattern used by a rhythm guitar. Compare with pattern picking, strumming patterns may be indicated through notation, tablature, up and down arrows, or slashes. Where all or four of the strings are used to create a strumming pattern using different notes.
    Leading/Lead Guitarring
    - Lead guitarring is a guitar part which plays melody lines, instrumental fill passages, and guitar solos within a song structure. The lead is the featured guitar, which usually plays single-note-based lines or double-stops. In rock, heavy metal, blues, jazz, punk, fusion, some pop, and other music styles, lead guitar lines are usually supported by a second guitarist who plays rhythm guitar, which consists of accompaniment chords and riffs, often played with a distortion effect.
Comparatively, strumming is easier than Leading, since strumming will depend upon the chords which are fixed till some of the finger positions, so you have follow those positions to play a strumming chord. On the other hand Leading needs more & more practice by memorizing whole of the notes in the Guitar neck & you've to make yourself accustomed to each of the notes in it.
  2. Regular practice: The ultimate success in Guitar or any other musical instrument depends upon how much you dedicate yourself in practicing it. The more time you spend with the instrument, the more your fingers will get accustomed to the strings. You can take, say, every morning 1-2 hours regularly to spend a quality time practicing. You can either do it alone or can take a partner to company you in the task. In that case you can share your thoughts or doubts with each other. Just remember, the two aspects, Guitar as an interest & Guitar as a passion differs a lot with each other. So do it properly, do it dedicatedly & without any disturbance.
  3. Softwares: Now comes the main part. Here are some of the softwares suggested by experts to make to expertise in Guitar playing. You just have to make yourself dedicated to the task & the game is in your hands.

Rules to follow to become a successful Guitarist

The young generations today are much eager to learn guitar as soon as they get influenced & inspired from various guitarists & bands performing in movies or in any albums or anywhere they see them using it in a much artistic & trendy way. They seek to make themselves skilled in the instrument, either to fulfill their own interests or to impress their opposite sexes just to gather publicity or attention. People who choses the former way, find themselves improving in the instrument as they start practicing it by taking it as a passion to learn. The later ones end up with some basic knowledge thereby finding the stuff a little tedious as they tend to lose their patience in the way along the practice getting it as a monotonous job. Following are some of the things to remember to master Guitar before starting it...

How To Be Successful In College

Here are a few pointers that will make it easier to survive college. It is very important to care about school and yourself while in college. Make it work!

The transition from high school to college can often be a rough one, but here are some tips that will increase your chances of being successful!
  • Be sure to choose the right school. This is the first and most important step for high school students, and it is necessary. Make sure you like the school you're going to go to. Visit it several times. Ask questions. Get a feel of what life is like there, because if you are not happy with your school it will be much harder to be successful there!
  • Remember what you're paying for. College costs a lot of money, so keep that in mind when you're there. When you skip class you waste money. When you don't get enough sleep before an exam and do poorly, you waste money. When you look at it from that angle, class seems more worthwhile. Plus it'll help you achieve good grades.
  • Get your priorities straight. Although that party sounds like a really good time, you have an exam at 8am. This kind of situation causes all kinds of college students to fail. Remember that school comes first. There will be plenty of other opportunities for having fun.
  • Get organized. Nothing is worse than trying to juggle your schedule of classes and exams while trying to study and remember what is when! My suggestion is that you get a planner for the year and write down everything from your syllabus. That way instead of carrying 4 or 5 different pieces of paper to figure out what you're doing for the week, it's all neatly written in one place.
  • Set aside time to study. It might sound silly to the non-college student, but it really is necessary sometimes. It's good to plot out what you're doing ahead of time so you can stay on task and not fall behind. When there's no one telling you what to do, it's easy to fall behind. Just make sure you understand that you really do have to study in college, and it is challenging sometimes.
  • Eat well. This is one of the most important things to remember. Staying healthy in college is so important because you really have to focus and be able to get things done. Eating pizza every day is not going to cut it. Make sure to incorporate fruits and veggies into your diet, which every school dining hall provides. If you feel healthy, you'll accomplish more.
  • Get your sleep. It has been proven through several studies that people in the ages of young adulthood need at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep per night, if not more. It is tempting to get into the habit of staying up late in college, but sleep deprivation is not going to earn you As. Get your studying done early and don't procrastinate, because it is essential to get your sleep.
Following these simple but important steps can lead to success in college. If you want to succeed, the choice is yours. By choosing a school you like, being organized and well-planned about your life, and taking care of yourself, it shouldn't be too difficult to achieve the grades you want. Also remember though, that college is only partly about the grades. The rest is about the experience, so make sure you get the most out of your time in school!

Facebook upgrades to the new profile look

Facebook on Sunday announced a new profile page that allows you to highlight friends, show off photos better and list more details about yourself, including work projects.
Whenever Facebook tweaks a profile page, there’s a fair bit of hubbub. In fact, every little pixel on the page gets analyzed (and overanalyzed). This time, Facebook appears to be going for the limelight with a Mark Zuckerberg appearance on 60 Minutes.
In a blog post, Facebook outlined the changes. In a nutshell, the new profile page does the following:
  • Emphasizes pictures with a row of tagged pictures.
  • Allows you to highlight friends important to you and feature lists of pals.
  • Highlight more detailed information about yourself in a profile.
That latter point is most notable—at least from a business perspective. Check out what Facebook decided to highlight:
The profile also gives you new ways to share your interests and activities. You can list the projects you worked on at your job, classes you took in school, your favorite musicians and sports teams, and more…
In other words, Facebook will at least allow you the option to use it more as an online resume. Funny that’s exactly how LinkedIn is used. If you can list your jobs, key projects and work connections on Facebook does that minimize the importance of LinkedIn? There’s no ready answer to that query, but you have to wonder.
What your Facebook resume may look like:

And the LinkedIn version:

All the parts are there for Facebook to take on LinkedIn. Some folks will choose to highlight their dogs, passions etc. But a big enough chunk of Facebook’s 500 million users will use the social site as a work and recruiting tool. Facebook plans to roll the new profile pages out gradually and everyone should have it by early 2011. You can upgrade by going to www.facebook.com/about/profile

Are You a Borer???

There are different types of people you meet with which you carry your conversations. With some your communication level matches & with some, it doesn't. Given are some of the traits which makes a person uninteresting or boring.

There are different kinds of people you meet in your day-to-day life. Some you like & some you don't. With some you're able to develop a strong bond & you both feel good liking each other & are successful to develop a good communication. But there are some with which you're not able to match your frequency & you just dislike them for no reason, thereby getting an irksome image. But believe me, every person & every situation has some or the other reason which makes the atmosphere boring or unfavorable to have a good conversation, ultimately loosing the interest level on the listener.

I just went through different people, meeting them, talking & observing what & how they talk & came to some conclusive points which actually hatch a boring character in a person . Below mentioned are some of the traits which aboring person possess, directly or indirectly, may be all or some. Needless to say, the more of the below traits they possess, the more likely they're considered to be dull & boring:

1. Taking Zero-Interest topics:
Sometimes while in conversation, some topics are being introduced on which no one has any interest at all to talk about so the frequency is not able to match between the borer and the listener, hence creating an uninteresting atmosphere.

2. Bragging:
A Borer usually brags & boasts about his own interests, achievements & talents without any prior demand by the listener. This creates an inferiority feeling inside the listener & he starts disliking the borer.

3. Lacking basics of Humor:
Borer lacks the basics of a humor, though he tries his best in achieving that but he’s unsuccessful, somehow, in producing the level of humor the listener is expecting of.

4. Transferring information to the wrong person
A borer has some info’s with him and he wants to share it with the listener without inquiring about the listener’s awareness regarding that info. If the listener knows something or everything or more than that regarding the stuffs he’s listening to & what the borer is sharing……. Damn! It’s all gone! The moment the borer starts narrating his story, the listener starts saying to himself: “Oh man! He doesn’t know I know all these things why is he telling me.” Some listeners expresses regarding their knowledge on the info on the spot only letting the borer know that he’s already aware of the things the borer is telling, depending on how the two are free towards each other.

5. Low interest level towards the listener:
Borers are really a bad listeners & that’s why they ARE borers and not listeners. They hardly have interest on what the other person is saying and are inattentive while they are communicating with them regarding their matters. They always try to end up the other person's lines so that they could start it from their side. It creates a bad image on the listener as it makes his interest of talks valueless.

6. I'm always right!:
I'm always right! - This’ how a borer thinks of himself. I thinks that whatever he’s saying has some & if, in case, anyone is trying to correct him, he just denies by the fact that he’s wrong.

7. Repeating the topic of talk:
“Little knowledge is very dangerous”. A Borer follows it. He has a few knowledge on some of the areas & is helpless to step beyond them, so takes the topics again & again in the conversation in different ways making the whole environment stagnant & dull.

8. Mismatch of level of cracking jokes:
Humor usually concerns aspects of American culture, and depends on the extent to which an individual will personally find something humorous obviously depends on a host of absolute and relative variables, including, but not limited to geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, and context. People of different sense of humor will therefore find different situations funny. If the borer’s sense of humor doesn’t matches with that of the listener’s, then nothing can stop the borer to become the jackass of the conversation.

9. Lack of smile:
“A smile is the light in the window of your face that tells people you're at home.”
It’s rightly said that a smile creates a positive image on other’s mind. So, some or the other way, lack of smile can be one reason of being a borer.

10. Irritating behavior:
A borer always have one or more such behaviors that makes people irritating or they just don’t like that in him. Some borers identify it & tries to rectify it & some tend to become just borers.

So next time when you talk, take care of the above things and make an interesting presence of yours in the conversation not being called as a Borer. No one is born perfect. As there's no word like perfect. It's just a style of bringing improvement by observing others & correcting ourselves.

How to Remove Motorcycle Grips Without Destroying Them

If you’re installing heated grips or swapping your throttle tube or handlebars, like it or not your grips are going to have to come off. And if you’re like me, you’d prefer to keep the grips intact so you can use them again.
Here are two methods for removing motorcycle grips without destroying them, with one big caveat:
"If you, the previous owner of your bike, your mechanic, or your Aunt Sally used Super Overkill Grip Glue when installing the grips, there’s a chance you’ll be out of luck if you want to save them. That being said, some grip glues are more forgiving than others, so give these methods a try — but don’t blame me if the grips don’t survive removal."
